A pallet is simply a specifically sized wooden structure, deisgned for carrying goods. It is specifically made to be carried by forklift or hand pallet trucks, and to be stackable.
You can specify for us to supply one during ordering. You can also obtain them from most industrial estates. You'll find that many companies are willing to let you have one if you ask.
Different pallet sizes are used for different load types and costings. You can get quarter, half, and full size pallets, and you may use each for different purposes.
An oversized pallet is exactly as it sounds, a pallet whose contents exceed the physical size of the base of the pallet. If for example you were sending some timber which was 1.7m long, the end would overhang. For this, you would need an oversized pallet. Thw weight restriction remains the same as a normal pallet however.
Most things can be sent via pallet, including packages, small goods, white goods, multiple boxed items, large or bulky items, and more.
Most items can be sent on a pallet. However, there are some rules and excpetions. Please see our prohibited items for a list of goods which cannot be sent (note that there are specific guidelines for leakable, hazardous, engines etc).

Yes, we do not take goods that are not palletised. However, one can be requested if required, at the time of ordering.
Items must be securely fastened. This can be via pallet wrap, strapping, or other secure method. Rope, bungee cord etc is not sufficient. Please see our 'how to package' page for more details.
We use a combination of a hand pallet cart and then move the pallet onto the tail lift of the truck. Some trucks may also use a small portable fork lift truck, but this is unusual.
No, the surace nmust be flat and smooth. We cannot move the pallet over grass, gravel, or other unsuitable surfaces. Drives and tarmac are fine.
